Brent Lawrence Hozjan of Shoreline, Washington passed away in Seattle, Washington on September 16, 2021 at the age of 46.
He was born on August 30, 1975 to Stephen Hozjan and Carita (Wikstrom) Hozjan in Seattle, Washington
Brent grew up in Shoreline, where later in life he purchased his childhood home, and raised his family there until the day of his passing.
Brent had a passion for fishing, and you could find him at any local fishing spot during the season. He loved fishing for salmon and halibut in the Puget Sound, or would often take his reel to nearby Ballinger Lake. Whether it was a new place or not, he had an innate ability to make friends wherever he went. He was an avid woodworker and loved being behind his scroll saw making projects. He was a handyman to the core and was always only a phone call away to help out a friend in need.
Brent was a dedicated Seattle sports fan, especially of the Sonics and the Seahawks. His passion for the Seahawks led him to volunteering at Hawk Alley Tailgate since 2015. His time and energy were put toward raising money for local charities including Ben’s Fund, supporting childhood autism research and support, as well as The Vision House, working to break the cycle of homelessness.
Brent appreciated spending time with close friends, especially during backyard fires and BBQs. From his library of jokes he had memorized, he loved sharing them with all those around him, which were sure to make everyone smile and laugh.
After attending Shorewood High School, Brent moved on to work various positions at several home improvement and contracting companies, which is how he became the ultimate handyman that he was. Brent’s most recent position was as a delivery driver with UPS in Seattle.
Brent was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stephen and Barbara Hozjan, and Verner and Beatrice Wikstrom. He is survived by his long-term girlfriend of 15 years, Crystal Kowsky, his sons, Cameron and Brandon Hozjan, his siblings, Yvonne, Ashley, Joe, and Stephen, and his parents.
A Celebration of Brent’s Life will be planned in November, details to follow. |
