Colonel Adi Irani courageously fought but lost the battle to very aggressive pancreatic cancer and left for his heavenly abode on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 in Kirkland, Washington (WA), USA. He will forever be loved and cherished by his wife of 45 years Farida Irani, and his daughters Roda Irani and Dilnaz Irani Clark all residing in Washington, USA.
Adoringly called “Papa Adi” by his delightful grandchildren, Adi’s life was characterized by service and kindness to all. Born in Shahabad, India on August 20, 1947 to Aspi and Roda Irani, Adi earned a BS in Electrical Engineering before joining the Indian Armed Forces. Over a span of 24 years with the Air Defense branch of the Indian Army, Adi earned many honors and awards, and commanded a regiment of almost 1500 soldiers and officers.
After his early retirement from the Army, Col. Adi Irani became a General Manager at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Pune, India from 1998 to 2008. During his illustrious career at TCS, “Colonel” as he was fondly known, was an incredible leader, mentor and friend to many. He will always be remembered for his smiling face, his helpful demeanor, his love for the environment and his fierce loyalty.
Adi epitomized the Zoroastrian principles of Good Thoughts, Good Words and Good Deeds. This is evident by the fact that even in death he donated his body parts that cancer wasn’t able to claim, including his corneas which have given the gift of sight to others.
Instead of flowers, the family asks that in honor of our beloved Adi, that you would do something charitable and unsolicited for others in need. |
