It is with profound sadness to announce the passing of our brother, son, and friend, Selfick (Felix) Ng-
Simancas on November 02, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. Felix’s life journey began in Anaco
Venezuela, where he was born. At a young age, his family migrated to New York, where his new life
began. At a very young age, Felix knew he wanted to dance, and art was his life. Due to this passion, he
studied at SUNY- Purchase Conservatory of dance, and began his career in dance and choreography.
After many years of hard work and dedication, Felix later made his way to Seattle WA, while dancing and
choreographing for DASS Dance company, currently owned by his lifelong friends Daniel and Danielle
Wilkins. He also traveled to Japan where he made many special and forever connections, and eventually
Seattle WA became Felix’s new and forever home.
Throughout his life, Felix made many memorable friendships that would last a lifetime. The people he
connected with knew he was truly special, one of a kind, and was someone they wanted to forever have
in their lives because he illuminated it. No matter the country, the state, or city, he made a profound,
meaningful, and permanent impact on those who were fortunate enough to cross his path. Felix loved
the people he met while working as a professional stylist, choreographer, pinball community, dance, and
art. Felix also had a passion for collecting antiques and tea sets, and he especially loved spending time
with his best friend Theresa, who he enjoyed having his tea parties with. Felix was also a professional
barber and stylist due to having an extreme talent for cutting hair.
Felix is survived by his loving mother, Marlene De Jesus Hyde (Mike) of Tampa FL, his brother Rafael
Nunez (Rosemery) and their children, his adored nephews and nieces, Yexenia, Ivelissia, Marlene,
Grayson, Rafael, and Jhon Jairo of Binghamton NY, and Lois Chojnacki his beloved aunt of Binghamton
NY. He is also survived by his sister, soulmate, and best friend, Selene Rojas (Juan) of San Antonio TX,
and his nephews Cristian and Cruz. Felix and Selene were like twins, forever connected throughout life
no matter the challenges. They fought the world together, created worlds together, and succeeded
together. While Felix had no children, he had an extreme love, bond, and special connection with Cruz
and Cristian, who were like his own children, as well as his brother-in-law, Juan. Felix enjoyed playing
videogames, swimming, building Legos, and giving them advice about life while visiting his second home
in TX, and left beautiful and forever memories. Felix’s name will never be forgotten, and his name will
always be spoken.
In lieu of flowers, Felix would love for people to educate themselves about lung cancer research and
donate to its cause when able to. https://www.alkpositive.org/
