Obituaries

Ruben was one of the five nicest people I've ever met. His was certainly a life well lived. I regret not staying in touch with him.

I just received word for me fellow member of the Manlius fire department that Ruben passed away on September 6. I was a career, lieutenant and paramedic for the Manlius fire department when Ruben was a volunteer there. As a field, preceptor for new EMTs, I had the opportunity to, assist in the training ruin as he worked toward becoming an emergency medical technician. I always enjoyed having moving around because of his great desire to learn, his extreme intelligence, but mostly for the compassionate and gentle man that he was. I often think of the time he flew to Seattle with his bicycle, and then proceeded to ride it all the way back to Manlius New York. I believe he turned 65 while he was on the road back to New York. I will always remember him and think of him and his devotion to whatever it was he under took. I hope that his family may find peace at their loss, and always enjoy the memories of the man that he was.
