Robert Garth (Gary, “Luds”) Ludwick left us on December 6, 2022, at the age of 79.

Gary was born on September 10, 1943, in Bellingham, Washington. He lived with his parents
Ernest (Lud) Ludwick, Jr. and Norma MacNeish Ludwick and his younger sister Rochelle in
Arlington, Washington, through his junior year at Arlington High School where he lettered in
almost every sport.

His family moved to Wilbur, Washington for his senior year where he graduated as a Senior
Athlete and Athlete of the Year, 1961.

Gary attended the University of Washington and graduated with a BA in Business. He was a
lifelong Husky fan who often said he bled purple and gold and all who knew him would agree.
He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and many of the friendships formed in that house
spanned his lifetime.

Gary began his business career as the youngest stockbroker ever hired by Burr Wilson (later
Dean Witter) at that time and moved to San Francisco for training. On his return to the PNW, he
went to work in the stock market—another life-long love.

He opened his own firm, Migar Investment Company and became a licensed real estate broker, a
licensed agent for the Internal Revenue Service and a Trustee working for the Bankruptcy Court.
As a trustee, he completed the development of condominium style moorage slips in Point
Roberts, Washington, and finished an 18-hole golf course in his hometown of Arlington. After
serving as a trustee for many years, he joined The Escrow Group as Chief Financial Officer.

Following his tenure at the Escrow Group, Gary retired to Palm Springs, California, where he
became a member of Canyon Country Club and spent time living life with good friends and
family, and in general, playing well with others. He returned to the PNW for the last several
years of his life to be close to family and friends.

Gary was in every sense of the word, a true gentleman who loved his family and whose favorite
place was always at home. He knew that work was just a part of life. He learned early on to focus
on the journey—not the destination. He was a loyal husband, a loving father and grandfather, a
protective brother and a true friend.

Gary leaves behind his wife Jackie of 42 years, his loving daughter Brooke Ludwick Boling
(Gregg) and grandchildren Parker and Thatcher; his stepson Daren Hamilton—grandchildren
Macklin and Abigail; and stepson David Hamilton (Kristian Lewis) and grandchildren Loomis,
Alexa Ray, Jenna, Joanna, Christa Lynn and Cole; his sister Rochelle Ludwick McConnell
(Bruce) and nieces Melissa McConnell (Gregory) and daughter Runa; and Kelsey McConnell-
Omdal (Matt) and son Waylon.
