Erick Oscarson was born and spent the first 18 years of his life in Chelan, Washington.
In this small community he learned his love of spending time with family, friends, loving all types of sports and enjoying many activities in the outdoors. He loved to travel from a young age and spent hours planning trips to destinations in the U.S. and abroad.
Erick loved his family- his parents, stepparents, his grandparents, siblings, Aunts, Uncles and cousins but he loved his friends just as hard.
Whether you were Erick’s friend from growing up or from later in life, He always kept you close for a text, check in, golf game, sporting event or fun adventure. And if you were out on the town or on a trip with Erick, he always knew someone. And if he didn’t know someone, he made new friends in every town he visited or every bar he stopped in. He loved to build communities and bring people together. He also had a soft spot for his younger cousins- holding them in his big strong arms, or playing in the pool with them for hours on end. And Erick never met a four-legged friend he didn’t try to charm. He loved all of the dogs and cats in his orbit.
Erick had a passion for the little guy as well. The ones who were chosen last to be on the team, the ones who didn’t always fit in and especially the Disabled community was dear to his heart because of his sister Johanna. Erick would always try to protect her even when she thought she didn’t need him.
Erick rarely did things ½ way. He always tried to be prepared and whether it was making coffee in the morning, cooking meals or taking a trip-Erick always had a snack packed, a beverage cooler with more than enough to share with whoever came along or joined in the fun.
Rest easy Erick. Your legacy of love, contribution, and generosity will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know you.
